Music Tuesdays: FKA Twigs

I´m in love and obssessed with FKA Twigs for two reasons:

Musically, because of her voice, so sweet and the ethereal sound of her music. She´s been already compared to Janeth Jackson, in a sweeter version, but I still have to listen to FKA in all her height before I submit this. But I know one thing, she´s already shining out off her authenticity.

Visually, I can´t get enough of her face, I love her features and styling. She reminds me of a punk black Frida Khalo.

She ´s the new promise of the London underground scene, where she lives, though her roots are Spanish/Jamaican.

Estoy enamorada y obsesionada por FKA Twigs por dos razones:

Musicalmente, por su voz y sonido tan étereo. Su voz ha sido comparada con la de Janet Jackson en su época más dulzona, aunque faltaría escucharla en plenitud. Pero ya brilla por su autenticidad.

Visualmente, por su increíble tez, sus peculiares facciones y su estilismo.
La Frida Khalo Punk.

Es la nueva promesa del underground londinense, donde reside y ha crecido, aunque sus raíces son jamaicanas.

The very few material she has online is the introduction to all her potential. Her music transports us through raw to slow motion sounds and gloomy melodies. If we were to brand her music style we wouldn´t know if we should rather name it trip- hop or aereal experimental r¬b- hip hop, it give us a kind of Massive Attack feeling, but it´s another thing... maybe once we get to her the whole material of her first EP( which comes out next october 9th, and it´said to be produced by Arca, who worked with Kanye West in "Yeezus"), maybe then we´ll find  a more precise answer to this...

El escaso material que tiene publicado es como una especie de introducción a lo que puede ser. Nos va transportando entre sonidos acompasados, descargas slow motion y melancólicas melodias. Si tratase de catalogar su estilo musical, no sé si lo llamaría  trip- hop, o r&b aéreo, pero me recuerda una versión neo de Massive Attack... quizás después de escuchar su EP, (se publicará el próximo 9 de octubre y cuenta con la producción de Arca, quién trabajó para Kanye West), quizás entonces encuentre una respuesta más precisa.
